Position: Patient Transporter
Location: Miami, FL
Shifts: 3: 00 p.M. - 11: 30 p.M.
Duration: 13 Weeks
Start: ASAP
Job Duties:
Assist direct patient care staff in preparation of patient for transfer and/or transport.
Ensures appropriate patient transport through verification of patient identification bracelet.
Inform RN of patients departure and arrival.
Remove telemetry boxes from patient as trained and with RN approval, per department procedures.
Respond to hospital codes per department policy.
Initiate Code Rescue, Code Blue and CPR when appropriate.
Consistently demonstrate knowledge of proper body mechanics and transfer techniques while performing the following:
transfer of patients to and from bed, stretcher, wheelchair, vehicle
assist clinical staff in lifting and repositioning patients as needed, using minimal lift equipment as needed.
Consistently demonstrate proper handling, operation, and storage of equipment.
Assist with the maintenance of all departmental based equipment.
Inform dispatcher, supervisors, and/or manager of malfunctioning equipment in a timely manner.
Ensure proper storage of oxygen is maintained throughout the department and facility.
Accurately operate patient tracking system.
Communicate delays and cancellations to appropriate departments and/or dispatcher.
Reschedule department request as needed.
Maintain department average transport and response time.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
HS High School, Cert, GED, Trn, Exper
Previous health care experience preferred
BLS (AHA)
CPR Certification
Previous health care experience preferred.
Good interpersonal skills, strong communication skills, knowledge of body mechanics desirable, strong physical ability.
